More about the film:
Unseen Territories is a documentary and site-responsive exhibition that explores the entangled relationships between land, identity, and spatial memory. Situated on Southern Paiute territory in Las Vegas, Nevada, the project brings together 14 local BIPOC artists in acts of cultural reclamation and collective authorship.
Through personal flag-making, ephemeral interventions, and collective performance, the artists confront colonial iconography and its enduring imprint on public space. Unseen Territories doesn’t merely critique—it reimagines, centering ancestral knowledge, lived experience, and channeling authentic brown joy. It is both a refusal and a proposal: a curatorial strategy that opens space for belonging, sovereignty, and transformed public narratives.
